Iowa Junior Prospects
Focus on Early Development
The Iowa Junior Prospects program is dedicated to nurturing the athletic and personal growth of young athletes. Emphasizing development through structured training, our program caters to Coach Pitch (7U) and Kid Pitch (8U) levels.
Comprehensive Training Schedule
Starting indoors from January through April and transitioning to a mix of indoor and outdoor sessions from April to July, the program ensures consistent skill development. Athletes will engage in two practices weekly.
Expert and Parent Coaching
Each team benefits from the expertise of the Iowa Prospects staff and the dedicated involvement of volunteer parent coaches. This combination enhances learning while maintaining a supportive and familiar environment for the athletes.
Full Program Management
Iowa Prospects handle all logistical aspects including uniforms, scheduling games and practices, and managing rosters. Our comprehensive support allows players and coaches to focus on what truly matters – the game and player development.

Iowa Prospects Youth
Developing Elite Talent and Character
Our mission in the Iowa Prospects Youth Program is to cultivate elite-level baseball skills and intellectual growth, while fostering the holistic development of young men. This program is designed for players in the 9U to 12U age range.
Advanced Coaching and Preparation
Our dedicated coaching staff is committed to preparing players to excel at high levels of competition. The program emphasizes a smooth transition into high school and college prep phases, ensuring players are ready for the next level.
Tournaments and Practices
Teams will participate in 8 to 10 tournaments throughout the season, coupled with bi-weekly practice sessions. This extensive game play is complemented by additional opportunities for skill development sessions and personalized lessons.
Comprehensive Skill Development
Beyond practices and games, players can benefit from specialized skill development and lessons that enhance baseball skills. This holistic approach ensures comprehensive growth and readiness for higher competitive levels.
Tryouts for 9U - 12U
Iowa Prospects Youth Program Tryouts
Tryouts are a combination of data gathering and coach’s eye evaluation. The overall goal of our tryouts is to give an accurate assessment of what level we envision the player best competing and developing at in the coming year. Tryouts will include evaluations of all facets of the game as well as specific drills that focus on athletics and baseball IQ. Tryouts will take place at 515 Fieldhouse. Cost for non Iowa Prospects players is $30. Our evaluations will include:
- Infield
- Hitting
- Pitching
- Catching
- Velocities
- Timed Sprint
- Baseball IQ Drills
- Outfield Fielding and Pop Ups

Important Information for Tryouts
- Please arrive 15 minutes before the tryout for sign in
- Wear baseball pants and a baseball cap (Look like a ball player)
- Evaluation Cost for non Iowa Prospects players is $30
- Date and Time: See above for your age group
- Location: 1220 NE Station Crossing Grimes, IA 50111
- Bids will be sent out within 24 hours of the tryout being completed and will need to be accepted within 48 hours of receiving them.
